Install the development version

SmartRead runs inside your browser. This website provides installation guidance and documentation.

  1. Download the source from the GitHub repository and extract it into a folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome and enable Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the folder containing manifest.json.
  4. Open a normal web page, select the SmartRead extension and start reading.

This is a development installation. Chrome Web Store publication and the full release acceptance checklist remain pending. Browser internal pages do not support reading.
